The Quaich GOAT's

Who are the true greats in the history of the Quaich?  Based on winning percentage, it is Bret Baier and Sam Forrest. Sadly, Quaich fans will not see either of these legends on the links around Inverness next month as they both declined invitations to replace the injured Chris "Guvna" Hughes due to "prior commitments". However, Quaich fans will get to see Brian "Goombay" Farley and Ronald "NSW Ronnie" Denholm resume their battle for supremacy in most all-time points. NSW Ronnie leads Goombay by 1/2 point going into Quaich 2024. Fans are hoping to see a first round match-up of these two titans at Tain on June 16.

Quaich Shocker! Guvna Injury Comeback

Just weeks after being ruled ineligible for Quaich 2024 after suffering a full proximal hamstring avulsion on the ski slopes of Steamboat, Chris "Guvna" Hughes has received doctor's clearance to travel to Scotland next month.  Maddie Knutson, PT Reports out of Austin, Texas are that Guvna is completely committed to being physically ready to play for Team USA in June. His physical therapy regimen is especially intense, yet Guvna has not missed a single session with his therapist. “I have never seen someone so motivated,” said Maddie Knutson, age 31, Guvna’s physical therapist. “Chris has been coming in daily for assisted hamstring isometrics and glute compression treatments.”  Guvna’s teammates are guarded about his return to play.   “Guvna’s being f**king selfish and not thinking about the team,” said one longtime Team USA member who asked to remain anonymous.  “There is no f**king way he plays to his 8.5 handicap on one leg.” “If he’s not 100%,” said another un...
