Quaich 2024 Schedule Announced
After an extended delay and several false starts, Scottish Captain Michael "Wee Mikey P" Peyrebrune announced that the 2024 Quaich matches would take place in The Highlands of Scotland from June 15 - June 18, 2024. Mikey P, who was hastily thrust into captaincy by the abdication of the leadership role by Tony "Hef" Denson, was clearly overwhelmed by his abrupt promotion as he stood before an assembled press corps. But he soothed the nerves of Quaich fans everywhere by choosing the popular Quarryfield as the home base of the teams while in the northern Highlands.
"I am delighted to return the The Black Isle," said Mikey P. "It's been ten years since the Quaich was held in The Highlands, and I have such fond memories of the last time it was played here."
"Yer a numpty bawbag with yewr fond mamories," said Andrew Henderson of The Inverness Courier. "Yi only got one fookin point in 2014!"
Quaich 2014 was an epic battle with Team Scotland collapsing during Sunday singles at Nairn Dunbar to ultimately lose 11 - 9 to Captain Eric "Swayze" Silagy's surging American team. Mikey P was second only to Ian "Big Man" MacCallum in fewest points delivered for Scotland that year.
The schedule for Quaich 2024 is as follows:
- Arrivals at Quarryfield 14/6/24
- Opening dinner / ceremony 15/6/24
- 4 Competitive Rounds: 16 - 18/6/24
- Closing dinner / ceremony 18/6/24
- Depart anytime 19 - 21/6/24
