Hats Off to NSW Ronnie's Ryder Cup Moment

During a recent trip to Rome for the Ryder Cup, former Scotland Captain Ronald “NSW Ronnie” Denholm was getting ready in his hotel room for a day at the Marco Simone Golf Club. He assessed his “lewk” in the mirror. Clean white Veja sneakers, no socks. Short shorts. Retro Adidas top. “What’s missing?” NSW Ronnie thought to himself. “Of course. Bucket hat!” Being a grown man in a bucket hat isn’t something you just do. It’s a lifestyle. It says I’m the fun one in the group. It is a huge responsibility. But, as seen in this photo, NSW Ronnie was up to the task. NSW Ronnie reports he had a wonderful day cheering Team Europe to victory in the Ryder Cup. The highlight of the day was having his bucket hat autographed by European star player Tommy Fleetwood, who apparently mistook Ronnie for an adorable Italian toddler.

The 2024 Quaich was the only event in modern Quaich history where every player earned at least 1 point. Wee Ronnie secured MVP status for Scotland with 3.5 points.
