Quaich 2024 - Return to The Highlands

After an extended delay and several false starts, Scottish Captain Michael "Wee Mikey P" Peyrebrune announced that the 2024 Quaich matches would take place in The Highlands of Scotland from June 15 - June 18, 2024.  Mikey P, who was hastily thrust into captaincy by the abdication of the leadership role by Tony "Hef" Denson, was clearly overwhelmed by his abrupt promotion as he stood  before an assembled press corps . But he soothed the nerves of Quaich fans everywhere by choosing the popular Quarryfield as the home base of the teams while in the northern Highlands.  "I am delighted to return the The Black Isle," said Mikey P. Only a year away from the start of Quaich 2024, Team Scotland is in disarray. Scottish captain Tony “Hef” Denson has apparently abdicated his position, less than a year after being announced as the team’s next leader. Rumors had been circulating for months that Hef was not up to the task of leading Scotland’s efforts to host the next Quaich competition. Hef and his ladylove in Monoco “While adept at organizing gourmet meals for his paramour on the French Riveria,” said one anonymous source, “Hef was utterly useless in managing the logistics of the Quaich.” When it became clear that Hef’s declaration of hosting a “premier” Quaich event in the west of England was a complete charade, the Board of Director’s of Team Scotland unceremoniously sacked Hef and hastily inserted Michael “Wee Mikey P” Peyrebrune into the captain’s role.
